New Baby Gift Registry / Wish list

Awaiting the arrival of a new baby is one of the most exciting times of your life as you prepare yourself and your home for the big day. When you start to work out how many things you need to buy, the list soon starts to look endless and the potential cost astronomical. Luckily, your friends and family will be falling over themselves to help out and so allbabyneeds.co.uk is now giving you the ability to create a wish list and / or a baby gift registry to make things a little easier. Both options are completely free to create.

 The Wish List
Our wish list enables you to compile all the baby products you require into a stored list in your account for purchase at a later date. As items are purchased from your wish list, they are removed so that you do not receive duplicates. We will give you your own unique web address for your wish list which you can send to friends and family so that they know what items you want. You can specify whether your wish list is available for public view, a birthday (this can be yours or your baby), any additional information you want as well as your preferred address to send the purchases to.

 The Baby Gift Registry
Our baby gift registry is similar to the wish list except it is geared more towards a specific event such as the birth of your baby. You can specify more information with the baby gift registry than the wish list such as a particular event name and date which is useful for entering your due date or for celebrations such as baby showers or christenings. Whether you are planning your own baby shower or having one thrown for you, creating a baby gift registry with us is a great way to help friends and family choose what to buy your baby. You can also specify the gender of your baby as well as any colour preferences.

How do I add products to my wish list or baby gift registry?
It's very simple. Once you've set up the list or registry, just browse for the products you want or use our dynamic search at the top of the page. When you've found a product you like, click the "add to registry" or "add to wish list" buttons found at the bottom of each product page.

Where do I start?
When choosing what baby products to add to your gift registry, a great place to start is with the Cot. This will often determine the look and feel of the nursery and help with choosing the rest of the nursery furniture and decorations. From there you need to think about all the essentials you'll need through your pregnancy to your baby's birth and the first few months of parenthood. Gift Registry Helpful Tips

• Not everyone will be able to afford expensive items so make sure you add plenty of products that vary in price. This doesn't mean you should rule out adding high priced gifts to your baby registry. Just make sure to add some less expensive (but essential) baby products, such as bibs, baby clothes hangers and muslin squares.
• Create your baby gift registry as soon as possible. If you are planning a baby shower, give your guests plenty of time to plan for your shower. Most showers are held between 32 and 36 weeks into a pregnancy, so send out the shower invitation at least three or four weeks in advance and include your gift registry information.
• Be Specific. Make sure you specify what colours or size you'd like so you don't end up with something you'll never use.
• More is best. As well as all the essentials you'll need make sure you add plenty of options so that people have plenty of baby-spoiling options to choose from.
